HushStep Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how HushStep handles user information.
We respect your privacy. HushStep is a local utility app for fine control of system volume and screen brightness. The app does not require an account, does not include ads, and does not include third-party analytics or tracking SDKs.
1. Data We Collect
HushStep does not collect, upload, sell, or share personal data through the app.
The app does not collect:
- Name
- Email address
- Phone number
- Precise location
- Contacts
- Photos or videos
- Microphone recordings
- Health data
- Browsing history
- Advertising identifiers
- Usage analytics data
2. Data Stored Locally
To provide its features, HushStep stores the following settings locally on your device:
- Volume presets
- Preset names
- Preset icons
- Preset volume values
- Optional preset brightness values
- Language preference
- Recently selected preset
- Local Pro unlock status cache
This data is stored only on your device or in the local iOS App Group container so the app, widgets, and app icon quick actions can share the same settings.
This data is not uploaded to our servers.
3. Widgets and Quick Actions
HushStep widgets and app icon quick actions read locally stored preset information to display and apply your common settings.
This information remains on your device and is not sent to us.
4. In-App Purchases
HushStep may offer a one-time Pro unlock in-app purchase.
Purchases are processed by Apple App Store and StoreKit. We do not receive or store your credit card number, payment account, or other payment credentials.
The app stores only a local Pro unlock status so the corresponding features can be enabled.
5. Support Email
If you contact us by email, we may receive your email address, message content, screenshots, device information, or other information you choose to provide.
This information is used only to:
- Reply to your request
- Provide technical support
- Troubleshoot app issues
- Improve the product experience
We do not sell support email content and do not use it for advertising tracking.
6. Third-Party Services
HushStep does not integrate advertising SDKs or third-party analytics SDKs.
In-app purchase functionality is provided by Apple App Store and StoreKit. Apple’s handling of related data is governed by Apple’s own privacy policies.
7. Data Deletion
You can delete local data by:
- Deleting the app
- Clearing app data through system settings where available
- Deleting custom presets inside the app

8. Children’s Privacy
HushStep is not specifically directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
9. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Effective Date” on this page.
